Mr. Shanta Bandara mentioned in the announcement of the cabinet decision yesterday that Korean government jobs are available only to those who have passed the language proficiency, but there is an opportunity to apply for Korean jobs without language proficiency.
Speaking to the media, he says that the Korean language exam is not required to apply for jobs in the fields of welding, grinding, and painting.
Minister of State Shanta Bandara added that anyone under the age of 45 in the above-mentioned fields can register at the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency in Nawala and apply for jobs in South Korea.
He also mentions that In Korea, the monthly salary for such fields is more than Rs. 850,000.
No NVQ certificate is required and all departure costs are covered by a government loan.
The minister informs that the persons who are interested in the above jobs are trained and provide the necessary support for employment opportunities to contact the technical committee of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency in Nawala and get further advice.
